Hello,
I'm using CanAlyzer 7.2 and on the Write window I'm receiving this message "Connection Manager, overwrite existing connection" continuosly during my measurements. Everything seems to work just fine but I'd like to know what's the reason behind this.
The Help included is useless.
Thanks for the help.
Dario

Hello Dario,
the message "Connection Manager, overwrite existing connection" could occur because of a few reasons:
1. An active transport layer transmission is interrupted. If a parameter group with more than 8 bytes has to be transmitted, one of the J1939 transport protocols like BAM or CMDT has to be used. The PG is transmitted in several messages. Such a transmission has to be finished before a new one can be initiated.
2. The transport layer messages are sent not in the correct order or the timing is not according to the specification. BAM requires a minimu distance between the packets of 50ms and a maximum distance of 200ms. Packets which do not arrive in this window are dismissed and the "connection manager" message is sent to the "write" window of CANalyzer. There are other timing requirements as well.
3. There could be other issues regarding the transport protocol transmissions.
For a conclusive statement, an analysis of the message traffic would be necessary.
